Advent calendar for children - great ideas for the content

Every year, at the end of November at the latest (just before the deadline), I ask myself the same question: What should I put in the children’s Advent calendars?

Anyone who has children will certainly be familiar with the problem. The more children there are, the bigger the problem. There are even households where the husband wants a homemade calendar (!). Thank God that is not the case here.

Over the years I have developed my own strategies. About half of the boxes or bags contain small sweets. That's the easy part. But since so many sweets are eaten during the Christmas season anyway, something more creative is needed for the remaining days.

Here is my small collection of ideas:

• Pens: Preferably very special ones, such as metallic felt-tip pens
• Matchbox cars: These often come in packs with several cars, so you can cover several doors at once!
• Small containers with modeling clay
• Kinetic Sand
• Magic Blocks: If you shade the blank pages with a pencil, a picture appears.
• New craft materials: beads, stickers, ribbons, feathers, stamps, etc.
• Pixi Books
• Accessories for girls: Pretty bracelets, hair ties or clips
• Bath toys: modeling soap, bath bombs, sponge animals, etc.
• Soap bubbles: They can be frozen in winter
• Small toy figures: dinosaurs, Playmobil animals or Lego figures
• Funny socks
• Finger puppets
• Children's Tattoos
• Sparklers: Perfect as a highlight for an evening winter walk
• Glow sticks
• Small gemstones: Treasures of all kinds have been in high demand for years
• Bouncy Balls
