“Bulldog!” someone shouts from the back seat, so loudly that I almost yank the steering wheel out of my skin in shock. Just got there, phew!
"What is she talking about now?" you might ask. I am a mother of two boys, as you might have guessed. And as soon as both of them could speak their first words, I was regularly informed in a loud and clear manner as soon as any kind of vehicle was spotted.
Without any effort on my part, they are enthusiastic about everything that drives or flies. The bigger and louder, the better. My boys are particularly fond of bulldogs, excavators, road sweepers and helicopters. But a lawnmower will do in a pinch, as it is also loud.
Of course, this leads to long-winded scenes for me as a mother. For example, when we have to stand for hours next to a construction site in the rain and watch a cement mixer turning its concrete. Admittedly, my love of vehicles has also saved me from many bouts of boredom. I'm just saying Corona lockdown. Thank God there were lots of farms with fields and construction sites nearby.
One thing is clear: men and vehicles are a deep love, and it has been that way from the very beginning! That's why we have several miniature cars blocking the floor of our children's room. And of course they can't be missing from the wall either.
